Challenges Faced

Mastering secure CRUD operations with Firebase Authentication was a steep challenge, as I had to ensure robust user data protection mid-development. Handling dynamic layout toggling between card and table views demanded intricate state management, which I tackled through persistent trial and error. Balancing real-time search functionality with a smooth UI under varying network conditions tested my adaptability and optimization skills. Integrating Google social login added complexity, requiring me to debug authentication flows on the fly.

Future Plans

I aim to implement map integration with a suitable API, like Google Maps, to enhance location-based searches for lost items. Adding AI-powered item recognition using image uploads will streamline reporting processes. I’d love to introduce a community forum for users to share recovery tips, boosting engagement. My long-term vision is to collaborate with local authorities to establish WhereIsIt as a standard recovery platform.
